  1. Kind of what I have in mind ... All it would take is more American dollars than I have at the moment.
  2. If I didn't ride Harley, I'd ride BMW. In fact, I still have my '80 R100. Soon as I'm bucks up (any day now I'm sure) I'm going to start a project to rebuild the R100 as an old school cafe' bike.
  3. That guy was freaking amazing. A big brain on wheels.
  4. FWIW - While it's not all that much, I've got about 60K miles on my '00 HD bagger. In that time I've had one repair, and we new it would be coming (known flaw in the early 'Fathead' engines). Otherwise it's been nothing but regular oil changes and topping off the air in the rear shocks. Not too horrible.
  5. IMO - you're making a lot of good design choices. Love the 'Glide' fairing and lights, and love that you kept that bigass air cleaner on there. A ride would be good. We'll have to come up with something - if the force is with me I'll have the summer off. And the fall. And next winter. Etc.
  6. They actually don't. Well ... not for long at least.
  7. Can't believe I've so totally missed this thread. Bike's looking great Scotto. We should think about going on a serious ride this summer.
  8. Well, if that isn't the dumbest shit ever it's sure a contender. Dipshits.
  9. There's a good, solid reason for thinking that.
  10. It's mostly light weight. I'd guess around 70-80lbs total for the cover and rails.
  11. Pimping my ride - yesterday I installed a tonneau cover from BAK Industries. Rolled up and stowed against the back of the cab - Rolled out & locked it looks like a standard soft top. And yes - the truck needs to be washed. It's been a full day since the last time.
  12. I'm going to take a long shot wag at it and lay odds that his dad isn't the brightest bulb down at the factory.
  13. I'm going to pick up some foam rubber dice for my rear view mirror. Maybe one of those chrome gas pedals shaped like a foot.
  14. When (/if) I get to 75, I'm gettin me some of these -
  15. Truck prices have indeed gotten stupid. I paid about 65% of what it went for new, and even that was about 30% more than I paid for my first home. This is my retirement truck or I never would have been able to justify the price.
  16. Cool! Around here, snorkles aren't as common. They're out there, but they're kind of rare. I didn't even think of it this morning - I'll try to get back out to the parking ramp and get a photo if/when I get a chance. When I pulled in a while ago, I took a spot next to a 2WD Ranger. The size diff (with the American Ranger) is pretty obvious.
  17. Oscar freaking loves it. Well ... he thinks he does. Mrs Janitor was concerned that he'd have a hard time getting into it (the cab back seat area). I kept my mouth shut, but thought "whu?". She was coming up with schemes to coax him in. Like I could fold up the 40/20 section of seat and she could sit in the remaining 40 seat with a treat to get him in there. I walked down to get something from the truck night before last, and he came with me. For giggles I opened the back door and flipped the seat up and out of the way and before I got out of the way myself he was in there. Sat in there with his back to me and didn't want to get out. So ... I took him for a short ride, and he was more willing - but not eager - to get out when we got home. Hard time my ass. He just walked right in.
  18. It's misdirection to keep the thieves away.
  19. It's also entirely possible that the Ranger they sell in the AU is much different than the Ranger they stopped selling in the US 5-6 years ago (or whatever it was).
  20. Not here to argue that point - I'm certain I don't know at all. I'm not sure when they stopped selling the Ranger here in the US, but it's been a few years. Back then they were clearly smaller than my Dodge Dakota, and next to the F150 that would have looked like the midsize it was. I also remember seeing some of the Nissan Safari's in Africa a few years back, and those things looked pretty badass. ETA: And the F150 is pricey. But so are the rest of the 'full size' pickups over here.
