Shotgun Sight Preference?

Recommended Posts

What is your sight preference for shotguns?

I've shot them with beads or fiber optic front sights.  Between those, I prefer the fiber optic, red in particular.

For rear sights, I like the ghost ring sighs, but also can seem more "busy" than other more open shotgun rear sights.

Having only ever used a bead, I'm going to say bead. Well, my brother's Savage has open rifle sights, but that gun is its own thing.

I'm growing to like ghost ring or aperture sights on everything

Only thing I don't like them on is a pistol.

Don't think I ever saw a ghost ring rear sight on a pistol.

FO front sights are something that I've come to really appreciate in the last year or so.  I still have some doubts on their durability for defensive handgun use, but they have been great on the few competition pistols that I have and I've put the PPQ 4" with FO front sight through a handgun course and a couple other training sessions.

I'd like to try ghost ring on a shotgun. I shot a High-Point pistol with a rear aperture. It was...busy.
